Gender Equity: The need for a whole-school approach

June 11 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us on Tuesday 11 June at 4.00pm – 5.00pm for the LEARN LIVE webinar ‘Gender Equity: The need for a whole-school approach’

What are the aims of this webinar?

In our session we will hear about the work and vision of Gender Action. Gender Action is an award programme that promotes and encourages a whole-school approach to challenging stereotypes. Tiered progression levels put gender equality at the heart of policy and practice, recognising those striving to ensure there are no limits on young people reaching their full potential. To register your nursery, school or college as a Gender Action supporter, go to: www.genderaction.co.uk

The programme was founded by the Institute of Physics (IOP), King’s College London (KCL), UCL Institute of Education (IOE) and University Council of Modern Languages (UCML), and DECSY engaged with the project as a partner.

DECSY are now administrating the award programme and the founding members and DECSY are continuing to oversee and steer the programme as a consortium.

What will you take from this session?

As mentioned, Gender Action empowers teachers to create positive change, using a whole-school approach, so that pupils feel safe and thrive in school. Gender Action is a school award programme funded by Mission 44. This free programme offers:

● Access to a wide range of expert resources on tackling sexism

● Tailored support with action planning from our specialist trainers

● Online and In-person CPD training and networking opportunities

● Tiered progression so you can monitor your school’s progress at four levels: Supporter – Initiator – Champion – Beacon
