Diversity in Schools Masterclass – For Leaders

Want to develop your knowledge, understanding and confidence in how to be an inclusive leader who celebrates diversity?

Join Bennie Kara, Hannah Jepson and Hannah Wilson in this Diversity in Education Masterclass to prepare you for the new academic year.

We are pooling our expertise and experience to deliver a 3 part masterclass – 3 sessions, 3 perspectives, 3 things for you to commit to in your pledge to embed diversity into your teaching.

This masterclass is for leaders:

• In Part 1: Vision and Values: Embedding diversity and inclusion in your school’s culture, Hannah W will challenge you to think about your environment, policies and practices.
• In Part 2: Inclusive Recruitment: How to challenge your bias and make better decisions, Hannah J will challenge you to think about your attraction, recruitment and retention.
• In Part 3: Colouring in Your Curriculum: How to diversify your units of work and your long-term plan, Bennie will challenge you to think about how you can decolonise your pedagogy.

Each part will be 45 minutes long with a balance of input, reflection and discussion. This is a paid for event.

At the end of the masterclass you will be able to ask the 3 of us any questions about your vision, your provision and your next steps.

Biographies:

Bennie Kara is a Deputy Headteacher in Derby, specialising in curriculum, teaching and learning. She is a speaker, trainer and writer on topics such as diversity, language, literature, and the curriculum.

Hannah Jepson’s passion is in supporting individuals, and organisations to embrace diversity and inclusion, with a key focus on intersectionality. She is a qualified business psychologist and co-founder of LGBTed. She delivers impactful D&I interventions for organisations; develops competency frameworks and recruitment & assessment solutions across a range of sectors. She consults with schools nationally on the LGBTQ+ inclusion agenda, providing support on the development of pan diversity strategies.

Hannah Wilson is an educational leader who specialises in leadership development and training. She is the Co-Founder of #WomenEd and the founder of #DiverseEd. Hannah is passionate about Diversity, Inclusion and Equality; Professional Learning; Mentoring and Coaching. Her former roles in education include: Head of Secondary Teacher Training; Founding Executive Headteacher of 2 schools; Strategic Lead for a Teaching School Alliance; Professional Learning Lead for a large MAT and DfE Diversity grant holder.
