Invigilator Training Course 2024 – 2025

Invigilators are crucial for schools and colleges to run examination seasons effectively. There is a great demand for invigilators and so you can improve your employability by being ready to go when exam season comes around.

This course delivered by Phil Denton, Director of Learn & former headteacher, offers you the opportunity to become ready to invigilate for Opogo. By watching the video, taking notes and then completing the quiz, you will demonstrate your aptitude for this role.

Before taking the lesson, have a good read of the supporting materials and ideally print them off for your reference.

There are some updates for 2024-2025 which are as follows:

  • Alternative rooming arrangementsCandidates with similar needs may be placed in a smaller group room.
  • 1:1 invigilationThis may be used for candidates who cannot be accommodated in the same room as others, such as those with a serious medical condition, tic disorder, or behavioral difficulties.
  • Evidence for candidates changing centersWhen a candidate moves from GCSE to GCE AS and/or A-level qualifications, the new center must have evidence that the access arrangement is still needed.
  • Online applicationA new online application is required to process access arrangements, unless the candidate is receiving supervised rest breaks.

The JCQ website has full details of the updates, including a PDF document on Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments.

You will also find this short supporting video, produced by JCQ, helpful as well as an introduction.
