A chaplain in a Catholic school serves as a spiritual guide, counsellor, and mentor for students and staff within the school community. If you are undertaking the role, looking to develop your practice or considering an application, this course will give you space to think and reflect about the ways in which you could become an effective chaplain.

Chaplains play such an important role in fostering a sense of belonging, moral development, and emotional well-being among students. They offer pastoral care, lead events throughout the liturgical calendar, provide counselling, and facilitate opportunities for prayer and reflection. Beyond religious duties, chaplains often engage in outreach programs, community service projects, and collaborate with teachers to integrate religious teachings into the curriculum.

Their presence extends beyond the confines of the chapel, as they actively participate in the daily life of the school, offering guidance, encouragement, and support to individuals facing personal challenges or seeking guidance in matters of faith. In essence, a chaplain in a Catholic school embodies the spirit of compassion, faith, and service, enriching the spiritual fabric of the educational environment.
