Helping Minds Work Together Part 3 - Wired to Learn

13 May, 202012:00 BST1 hour
Off the back of his popular ‘Helping Minds Work Together series, Steve Carr will be hosting the final part of his webinar as part of Opogo’s Lunch & Learn series.
Children are hardwired to learn. What’s more, they want to learn from you, their teacher, but they need certain conditions to thrive.

“About 20 years ago, I quit teaching forever. It was a Wednesday, Period 3 and I was getting nowhere with another Year 9 class and I’d had enough. I threw in the towel, sat down and decided to wait out the hour before giving my notice at lunchtime.

What happened next changed my mind and changed the course of my teaching career.
This session unpacks what I learned from that experience and explores why children - in fact, all of us - are hardwired to learn...anytime...anywhere...in any subject.”

This webinar is perfect for you if:
● Have come up against these challenging moments
● You are interested in the psychology behind disruptive behaviour
● Want to learn how not to take students’ disruptive behaviour personally?
● How to use child psychology to influence your students’ behaviour in a positive way

The Lunch & Learn workshops are part of Opogo’s Care Package offering whereby we support the education community with a series of relevant events and workshops aimed at upskilling and supporting you while at home.

The webinar will be taking place at 12pm Wednesday 13th May which you can sign onto via the comfort and safety of your own home.

A LIVE Q&A with Steve will take place on Opogo’s Community discussion platform following the event, so be sure to sign on community.opogo.com
